Atlas Marathon Trail Running Festival

This is the second year of the Atlas Marathon Trail Running Festival. It happens in the beautiful area of GeoPark Mondial Unesco Mgoun in the High Atlas region of Morocco. There will be six races over the second and third day of the festival at distances of 10K up to 120K. Each race will be well signposted and has checkpoints with bottled water and refreshments provided. There will be a race village where registration and presentations take place. Also at the race village competitors and spectators alike can buy food, drink and local produce as well as enjoy some traditional folk music and dancing. Free transport is provided from and back to Marrakech for competitors as well as free camping at the race village.

This running festival is being organised by the Cooperative Vivante to permit both national and international runners to discover the beauties of Morocco and specifically the M’goun area of the High Atlas Central. It will be organised in a sustainable development way to be eco-responsible and will make participants aware of the respect of the environment and the development of sustainable tourism. At 4 hours’ drive from Marrakech and Casablanca, this race is easily accessible to all. It provides an opportunity to highlight the richness of the Berber culture and Moroccan heritage. The event appears as a must in the calendar of Moroccan TRAIL RUNNING and is aimed at runners of all levels with different distances offered. The Atlas Marathon is a member of The International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and runners in this event will accumulate ITRA points for each race they enter.
The runners will have the choice between different courses: 120km, 75km, 46km, 30km and 10km. Runners and walkers may enter alone or in teams to participate in an extraordinary challenge which the organisers hope will become a highlight of the Moroccan Trail Running calendar. Refunds

If for any reason you are unable to race you may defer your entry until the following year or pass your race entry on to another person.  Once race entry fee has been paid these are the only options.


Credits

  • You may exchange your entry for a Credit FREE of cost until 15/09/2023.
  • You will have 12 months (from the date of the event) to spend your credit. You may also use your credit to enter someone else.
