Dorney Lake - 5km, 10km, 15km

C-19 PLAN:

Following updated guidance from the UK Government and in turn the governing bodies who license our events, UK Athletics and British Triathlon, we’re confident that this event can go ahead in a modified format. We’re carefully adapting our event plans – from getting there to going home. We’re thinking through every detail and the safest way to deliver our events under the new guidance.

The website has been updated on the 25th July with detailed competitor notes expected on the 31st July. All information is provisional and subject to change.

Description: Set at the spectacular, flat and smooth-surfaced Dorney Lake, near Windsor, the course takes you onto the lake and around the perimeter of the water. With fuel and water stations and chip-timed results we try and make it as easy as possible to get your pacing right, so that you can focus on your race and get the best possible time.

Super-fast course - perfect for beginners or intermediates. Anyone can enter this event.

Events: Runs: 5k, 10k, 15k & Half Marathon

Event Location: Dorney Lake, Eton College Rowing Centre, off Court Lane, Dorney, Windsor, Berkshire. SL4 6FJ. (Please note that this postcode has recently been updated from SL4 6QP but may not have propogated to any satnav software you may be using. Please navigate to Dorney Lake if unsure).

Car Parking: On arrival to the site follow signs to the event car park.

Registration: All running event participants will be sent their bib number, which includes their timing chip, prior to the event. An enquiries desk will be set up at the front of the boat bay to allow for anyone who’s number has not arrived.

Bag Drop: There will be no bag drop or changing facilities at the event in order to minimise the amount of contact between staff and participants and to restrict all activities to the outdoor areas. We advise competitors to come ready to run and leave valuables in your car.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants overall and the top runner in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) for both males and females. Where possible, we will endeavour to present individual race prizes as soon as validated on the day.

Bespoke Medals for all finishers and a selection of refreshments

Timings: Provisional schedule - each event will have a rolling wave start with participants starting individually at 15 second intervals. This allows for 4 people per minute to start; 60 people per 15 minute period. Longer distances will start earlier in the day with the shorter distances starting later. This will ensure that there is sufficient time between each participant starting to allow for social distancing. This should also ensure there is a steady number of people coming through the finish line, avoiding groups congregating.

Start periods will be allocated based on participant bib number e.g. numbers 1-60 starting at 15 second intervals between 08:00-08:15.

Please check your pre-race email for any changes to this schedule and notifications of your start times.

Routes:

· Half Marathon: 4 Laps + out and back

· 15km: 3 Laps

· 10km: 2 Laps

· 5km: 1 Lap

Covid-19 Measures: Measures put in place will include, but not be limited to, rolling start waves, one way systems around the site, hand sanitising stations, additional toilet capacity, regular cleaning, social distancing measures and provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to staff where necessary. Event information will be provided to participants prior to the event. This will include information about COVID-19 symptoms and a declaration that they have read and understood the conditions of the event including being symptom free.

No briefings will be provided on the day unless important information has changed since the initial briefing was sent out. This is so that participants are not required to gather in groups and to minimise their time at the venue.

There will be no on the day entries and no spectators will be permitted at the event.

NHS Test and Trace: In order to support NHS Test and Trace the following information will be collected from all participants and staff prior to the event and/or before they leave site:

· Name

· Contact phone number

· Dates and times of shift/event e.g. wave start time and chip finishing time

This information will be held for 21 days after the event.

Refunds

At F3 Events we want to allow all participants the opportunity to still take part in an event in the future if they are not able to attend the initial chosen event for some reason or another.

All these amendments incur an internal cost to the events business, and the reason for applying the transfer/ deferral fee.  We are one of only a hand full of companies that allow this to take place and would rather participants have an opportunity, up until a point when we are not able to make any changes, to make a future event possible.
