YOU MUST REGISTER IN PERSON!

Groups will be set off between 7am-9am. You can choose when you start BUT if you are booked on the afternoon transfer please think carefully about how long the ride will take you and when you need to start…

Bag Drop

We will transport 1 SMALL kit bag per rider to the finish line - a change of clothes and a pair of shoes NOT your weekend bag and the kitchen sink.

Bus Transfers

Bus transfers will NOT be available to purchase on the day. Please make sure your pedals can be removed BEFORE race day – you will need to remove your pedals before loading your bike onto the van. If you prebooked a bus these are the times:

Departing Aviemore 6am MacDonald Resort main car park

Departing Cairngorm Mountain Resort 4pm.

Mechanics

Thanks to Brexit and worldwide lockdowns many bike shops and mechanics are struggling to source spares. Please don’t leave servicing your bike to the week before the event – you may get a nasty surprise. We have experienced mechanics on the team but they can’t work miracles…

Littering

We take this very seriously – anyone found to be littering will be removed from the event and barred from future events.

Covid Safety Measures

·        Please wear a facemask whilst dropping your bag and when gathering at the start. Facemasks can be removed when riding however please ride with a face mask in your pocket – just in case!

·        Please take a lateral flow test before you travel and do not attend if you get a positive result – isolate and take a PCR test.

·        If come the week of the event you are living in a level 3 or above area please do not attend the event.

·        If you have any symptoms on the morning of the event please do not attend.

·        Please maintain social distancing at all times

·        Please maintain social distancing at feed stations, move aside as soon as you can to allow others access. In order to keep bubbles separate we may need to move people on from feed stations  - please follow instructions from the marshals.

·        Hand sanitiser will be available at feed stations – please use it before accessing the feed station.

·        We will have all the usual mechanics and broom wagons and this year they will all carry hand sanitiser and spare masks HOWEVER the best way to avoid spreading covid would be if we can avoid anyone getting picked up in the first place… please make sure your bike is roadworthy, recently serviced and you are carrying essential spares – tubes, gas/pump, tyre levers, chain tool and spare link (and a spare battery if you have lazy gears!) at the very least.

Please note:

A full refund/deferral will be given up to 2 weeks prior to the event. 7 – 14 days prior to the event refunds/deferrals will only be given to those who are unable to travel due to being put into restrictions/needing to isolate that week. No refunds/deferals will be given within 7 days of the event.

3 pistes 2021 Event Details - SATURDAY 4th September

sent by KOM Events Ltd on 15/07/2021 at 11:55
Firstly thanks to everyone who responded to our survey. The vast majority have opted to ride on the SATURDAY and so we WILL be changing the date. I know this is inconvenient and disappointing and I really hate that we are having to do this but please understand that the Covid situation has left us with very little choice - we simply cannot afford to run this event stand-alone with so few participants this year. We have been trying to get funding to help avoid this but the bureaucracy is such that it hasn't happened.

As such if you find you cannot attend on Saturday 4th September please contact me (info@komevents.com) ASAP and before 21st August at the latest, for a refund or deferral.

For everyone who still wishes to ride I will be emailing further details next week.

3 Pistes 2021

sent by KOM Events Ltd on 29/06/2021 at 12:33
Hello,

Thank you for entering 3 Pistes Cycle Sportive 2021.

We would like your feedback please.

In previous years 3 Pistes has been held at the same time as Day 2 of Tour of the Highlands.

Earlier in the year, due to the covid capacity restrictions limiting us to 200 persons including staff, we decided to have 3 Pistes riders tackle the Pitlochry to Cairngorm route the day after the Tour of the Highlands riders. TotH riders Saturday & 3 Pistes riders Sunday.

British Cycling and Scottish Government guidance and regulations currently suggest that we can now have a maximum of 500 riders in groups of no more than 50 (although we only allow maximum rider groups of 30) .

It is our intention to once again merge the TOTH and 3 Pistes riders to the same day, Saturday 4th September as we simply cannot afford not.

But we need to know if that works for you the riders. So PLEASE FILL OUT THIS VERY SIMPLE FORM

We appreciate that most of you will have organised accommodation etc. and a potential change of date is a faff. Merging the two rides back into their traditional format means we do not need double the staff, double the infrastructure and more than treble the cost… on the upside it means you the riders have twice as many wheels to draft.

Many thanks

Hannah & Alan

3 Pistes 2021 - IMPORTANT CHANGE OF DATE!!!

sent by KOM Events Ltd on 01/03/2021 at 11:14
Following the First Minister's announcement on Tuesday we have decided to reschedule the Tour of the Highlands for later in the year. On the face of it May was looking promising, especially if your middle name is Boris. However, as the intention is to move back into a tiered system no earlier than the end of April the chances of one or more of our council areas being in level 3 restrictions or above is still pretty high (we guess...). The 3 Pistes takes in multiple regions and we need them all to be in level 2 or lower to be allowed to run the event...

So with that in mind we have chosen Sunday 5th September. We are really sorry for the obvious inconvenience of another change of date and hope you understand we are really doing our best to make this happen despite the virus's best efforts to spoil our plans.  If the new date does not suit please do just let me know if you would like to defer until 2022 or take a refund.

On the plus side there'll be more warm sunny days to train in so you will all be faster than ever :)
