Canterbury Adventure Race
The nature of our events is that anyone of any age and fitness can take
part, from the very beginner to the ultra racer. You plan and run your own
race, although there are prizes for the ones who collect the most points in each
category. You plan your own strategy and route, deciding how many CPs you want
to visit and in what order. You will lose 1 point for each 30s you are late
coming back. All checkpoints are worth 10 points each. Distance covered depends
on how many checkpoints are visited, and depends entirely on your level of
fitness, as well as your map reading/bike handling skills.
Registration opens at 8.30am to give competitors time to collect their waterproof maps and to plan their strategy and routes. Free car parking, changing facilities, toilets, refreshments.
2 hour Navigation based Trail Run Event – Trail Run only, using a 1:25k waterproof map, plan your route and navigate to as many checkpoints as possible in 2 hours. Distance covered is anything between 8 and 16+km. Minimum age to take part is 8 accompanied or 16 unaccompanied.
Canicross runners are most welcome - dogs go for free!
