SEAVIEW 17

You can download a .gpx file of the route here

Challenge yourself to Minehead Running Club’s unique Seaview 17 - This is a tough run along the South West Coast path from Countisbury to Minehead (about 21 miles). Some of the route is marked and marshalled, but the onus is on you to find your own way.
This is one of the most beautiful (and hilly) stretches of Coast Path in the country.

The modest entry fee includes a scenic bus ride from Minehead to Countisbury (some people say that this is worth the entry fee on its own). Once you have found your way back to Minehead - enjoy a shower and the legendary, lovely FREE refreshments.
Conceived by MRC as a unique challenge and charity fundraiser in 2005 this event has so far raised over £14,000 for local causes. Our Charity for 2020 will be Charlie's Challenge for The Somerset Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Due to the huge demand in the past, we have again booked 3 coaches for the 2020 event - so enter early.

Entries are strictly limited to 150 on the buses. We can accept a further 20 entries, but you will have to make your own way to the start.

10.00am start from behind the Church, reached from The Blue Ball Inn Car Park, Countisbury Hill, Lynton, Devon.

Buses leave Minehead Hospital car park, off Seaward Way, Minehead, Somerset at 9.00 am.

Entry Fees: Affiliated Club Runners £15.50. Unaffiliated Runners £17.50. All plus online entry charge (This includes bus to the start for pre-booked runners).

NO PRIZES, T-SHIRTS, MUGS etc. Just a great run and free refreshments.

NEW FOR 2020
Bring your own water container/cup. We will provide water and sweets/bananas at the 4 stations, but NO cups supplied.

MINIMUM AGE 18 years on 26th July 2020

Seaview 17 July 26th 2020 CANCELLED

sent by Minehead Running Club on 08/06/2020 at 09:59
Dear Seaview entrant,
It is with great regret that we have had to cancel the Seaview 17 this year. Everything is against us:
1) The bus company is only able to take about 10 passengers on each 50 seater
2) Our venue Minehead Cricket Club is not able to open until August 1st at the earliest
3) The Trail Running Association is not issuing licences, with a review due on July 1st

We are offering you all refunds of your entry fees. We will start to process these on June 22nd. We are not offering deferments. The fee paid to Racespace is non refundable.

Unfortunately our charity of the year http://charlieschallengeonline.co.uk/ will lose out massively. If you would like your entry fee to be donated to Charlie's Challenge, then please could you email seaview@mineheadrunningclub.co.uk to tell us ASAP and you will have Charlie's grateful thanks.

We do hope that you are all managing to keep running safely and hope to see you in 2021!

Coronavirus update

sent by Minehead Running Club on 20/03/2020 at 14:43
Dear Runner,
As you are probably aware, all Trail Running Association and England Athletics licences have been suspended at the moment.
As a result of this Minehead Running Club has put the Seaview 17 on hold for the time being. We will make a decision in June whether to cancel the event or possibly postpone it until later in the year.
Rest assured that in the event of a cancellation we will refund all entry fees paid to us.
Wishing all of our running friends the very best and hope you can all still manage to get out and do some running.
Stay Safe
Phil
