Northants 5K Race Series - Race 1

Northants 5K Race Series

The Northants 5K Race Series is now in its 8th year and has become a regular fixture in the county's annual running calendar. With hundreds of runners taking part last year, including club runners, jogging groups and those who are completely new to running, the 5k Race Series offers something for everyone.

The 2019 Series will include 5 trail races. All 5 races are multi-terrain courses taking in some of Northamptonshire's beautiful parklands and woodlands. All finishers will receive one of our bespoke 5K Race medals – a different one to collect at each race.

Course Info:

The first race is the amazing course at Deene Park, the beautiful home of the Brudenell family situated in the stunning countryside of East Northamptonshire.

Deene Park is a ring fenced estate, bisected by the A43 road linking Corby to Stamford. The estate is centred on Deene Park with its medieval hall and designed landscape, gardens and parkland.

The 5km Route will take you through the lovely gardens and a mix of woodland, cattle fields (minus the cattle) before bringing you past the stunning house on the finish straight. An updated race route from 2018. We would like to thank Brudenell Estates for all their help in putting this course together and allowing access to this wonderful site.

Race 1 Provisional Results - Deene Park 24.04.19

sent by Northamptonshire Sport on 25/04/2019 at 13:19
Hi all and a very well done for yesterday! I hope you all enjoyed the race and legs aren't too sore this morning?

I have attached the 'Provisional' Results from the race yesterday. As the race is timed manually we allow a few days for any issues to be highlighted, investigated and changed (if needed) before publishing the results as 'Final' and uploading them onto the Run Britain website. So, if you notice any issues, including;

1. Name spelt incorrectly or missing
2. Gender incorrect
3. Wrong or missing age category
4. Incorrect number with name
5. Timing way off what you would expect
6. Club name not present.

Please email me [email protected] by 5pm Monday 29th April 2019. Photos will be uploaded onto our website today.

If you haven't already booked onto Race 2 - why not head over now and book! Salcey Forest was the top rated course last year - as voted by 2018 participants.

We’ve been made aware that the traffic lights on the A43 roadworks between Weldon and Deenethorpe are not working properly.

If you can, please approach Deene Park from the Rockingham direction via Gretton Brook Road and Kirby Lane

Race Information for Deene Park Race

sent by Northamptonshire Sport on 24/04/2019 at 09:41

Good Morning,

Apologies if you have received this previously, we have had a few last minute entries.

We hope you are looking forward to the first race of the 2019 Northants 5K Race Series as much as we are? I have attached a couple of documents for you to have a read through before Race Day. There will also be a Race Briefing before the start of each race. I have included the map of the route.

Deene Park can be accessed from the Kirby Lane entrance. There will be signage and staff to get you on site and parked efficiently. There is a parking fee of £2. Please make sure you bring cash (ideally the correct amount, to keep traffic moving)

Once parked, head towards the red NSport gazebo through the gardens where you will register. Race 1 will start promptly at 7.15pm - as light may not be on our side later on.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]

Looking forward to seeing you this evening

Some participants travel by public transport or cycle hence a need for somewhere to leave luggage / change of clothing. Encouraging travel by bike or public transport where possible would help with the event's environmental responsibilities.

Hi. Is there a way of seeing the course route please. The "View course" button at the top of the page doesn't show anything. Thanks.
