Jackals Trail Marathon
Welcome to the Jackals Trail Marathon taking you over the Darwen Moors terrain of the West Pennines.
.
Undertaking 4 x alternating 'marked' laps of the Jackals 10km (ish) trail loop with a 6 hour cut off to complete all 4 laps.
.
Our beautifully challenging 10km (ish) trail loop boasts 1400ft of ascent on the counter clockwise route... and a tough climb out on the clockwise route!
.
Each lap will see runners changing there bib number to make the event more fun and unique!

We hope lots of you give this a go! The bar will be open at the finish line and hot food served too as well as earning your Howler Bling!
Mandatory kit list
- Ultra running belt or backpack with the ability to hold 1L of fluids
- Hat and gloves
- Waterproof jackets with hood
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Suitable race wear
- Prescribed medication
- Money
- Map of route (OS 287)(GPX will also be emailed to registered runners on request)
IMPORTANT
On completion of each lap you will be issued a new bib number before you head out on the next lap. You MUST tear a page out of the book at the given location that matches your bib number and hand in at the finish line on each lap. Failure to do this will result in a DNF. You have been warned!
You will be required to bring a tinned food item with you to registration. This could be a tin of custard, rice pudding, jam, beans etc. Although it is replicating Laz's Barkley Marathons... We intend to donate the tinned foods to the local food bank in Blackburn.
2 laps must be completed within 3 hours to be able to continue to lap 3. There is a 6 hour total cut off.
