Cavehill 5 Mile and 1 mile Fun Run

5 Mile Route

The Cavehill 5 mile run is the last in the #areyoureadyforthehills? Series sponsored by Decathlon.

The 5 mile route traverses some of the most beautiful trail paths in Northern Ireland. It is a very tough but equally rewarding route.

Terrain ranges from tarmac, gravel, mud, grass and steps. This will be a tough climb from the offset with steep sections both on the ascent and descent. The run summits at the 'Napoleon's Nose' taking in spectacular views over Belfast City.
Trail shoes are recommended.

The route will be fully marked out with yellow flags and marshals at key points. We will also have a tail runner, a marshal who will stay at the back of the race line in case of any incidents.

First aid will also be provided.

This is a timed run as always with a fab medal, goodie bag, prizes for winners, and post-race refreshments.

Race Numbers

Race numbers can also be collected on the day from 9.15am
On the day registrations will incur a £2 surcharge

Start Times

The main race will start at 11am
The fun run will start at 11.05am

Getting there

Registration and toilets will be at St Gerard's Community Centre, Antrim Rd, BT36 7PG.

Water

There will be water at the finish line but not along the route. Feel free to take a bottle with you if you think you will need it along the way. Please take any empties back with you.

Leave No Trace

Leg-It Events operate a strict 'Leave no Trace' policy. Please do not drop any rubbish along the route. This area of outstanding natural beauty - let’s keep it that way :-)

Weather

Obviously bad weather does not deter us trail runners but keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Some parts of this route can get very muddy, we suggest you bring a change of shoes and clothes.
