Divis 10k and 1 mile Fun Run

10k route
The 10k is a tough, steep run, especially for the first two miles, so be prepared! This also goes over some rocks so be careful of footing. It’s all worth it though for the spectacular views at the summit just before the opportunity to freewheel all the way downhill again.
The route then takes runners over the boardwalk and covers some more gravel path before leading towards the summit of Black Mountain. From here you can experience exhilarating views across the city and beyond. Continue to follow the gravel path as it winds its way along the ridge crossing a couple of stiles and the Collin River along the way. After that, it’s straight back slightly past the visitor’s centre where you will see the finish line and can collect your well-deserved medal.
The route will be fully marked out at every Kilometre. There will also be marshals along the way to guide you.
There will be water at the finish line but not along the route. So feel free to take a bottle with you if you think you will need it.
Please take any empties back with you.
Be aware of cows enroute do not go near them or startle them.

1 mile fun run route
The 1 mile route will be pretty flat and on gravel path.
It will start after the main event at the same point - just at the entrance to the mountain walk. It will head out past the coffee shop and turn back at the metal gates.

Clothing
Despite this event being held in the height of the summer, we have had a few years of bad weather. This has not taken away from a great day out. Please prepare for every eventuality and bring waterproof clothing just in case.
Trail shoes would be ideal but not a necessity.

Please check the route out beforehand as it can be a little bit tricky to find if you have never been here before.
There will be some car parking available at the barn, additional cars will need to park on the road, please car share where possible.
