Northants 5K Race Series - Race 3

Northants 5K Race Series

The Northants 5K Race Series is now in its 8th year and has become a regular fixture in the county's annual running calendar. With hundreds of runners taking part last year, including club runners, jogging groups and those who are completely new to running, the 5k Race Series offers something for everyone.

The 2019 Series will include 5 trail races. All 5 races are multi-terrain courses taking in some of Northamptonshire's beautiful parklands and woodlands. All finishers will receive one of our bespoke 5K Race medals – a different one to collect at each race.

Course Info:

The route starts outside the beautiful Delapre Abbey taking in some of the grounds and around Delapre Park Lake. We would like to thank Northampton Borough Council and Delapre Abbey Preservation Trust for allowing us to use this a venue for the series. Multi terrain course within Delapre Abbey and Delapre Park trails. A great mix of varied terrain and a bonus as this is one of our flatter courses.

Race 3 Provisional Results

sent by Northamptonshire Sport on 20/06/2019 at 22:46

Hi all and a very well done for yesterday evening. We managed to stay dry and I didn’t see too many muddy trainers on the finish line!

I have attached the 'Provisional' Results from the race at Delapre. As the race is timed manually we allow a few days for any issues to be highlighted, investigated and changed (if needed) before publishing the results as 'Final' and uploading them onto the Run Britain website. So, if you notice any issues, including;

1. Name spelt incorrectly or missing
2. Gender incorrect
3. Wrong or missing age category
4. Incorrect number with name
5. Timing way off what you would expect
6. Club name not present.

Please email me [email protected] by 5pm Monday 24th June 2019. Photos will be uploaded onto our website early next week. https://www.northamptonshiresport.org/northants-5k-race-series---2019

Looking forward to seeing you again on the 17th July at Brixworth Country Park

Delapre 5K

sent by Northamptonshire Sport on 18/06/2019 at 20:36
Thank you for booking onto Race 3 of the Northants 5K Race Series at Delapre Abbey. I have attached a couple of documents for you to have a read through before Race Day. There will also be a Race Briefing before the start of each race.

Please note: After the rain we have had in the last few days the conditions are very muddy under foot - especially around the lake. If you have trail trainers i would recommend you wear. If not, normal trainers will be fine - just prepare that they will get muddy.

On arrival at Delapre, head to the main car-park - parking is FREE but if you are able, please continue to car share so we can get everyone in and out in good time. Once the main car park is full, you will be directed to the overflow car park.Once parked, head towards the red NSport gazebo following the signs for 'Event Control' this is where you will register and pick up your race number. Event Control opens at 6.30pm.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]

Thank you for your booking for Race 3 -  Delapre Abbey in Northampton on the 19th June - probably the flattest of all the routes - although with the recent rain the course is extremely muddy. If you are lucky enough to have some trail trainers, please wear, if not you may have to tread carefully in a few places around the lake.

I have attached a couple of documents for you to have a read through before Race Day. There will also be a Race Briefing before the start of each race. I have included the map of the route. Please head to the main car-park - parking is FREE but if you are able, please continue to car share so we can get everyone in and out in good time. Once the main car park is full, you will be directed to the overflow car park.

Once parked, head towards the red NSport gazebo following the signs for 'Event Control' this is where you will register and pick up your race number. Event Control opens at 6.30pm. If you ordered a t shirt online, you will be able to collect this also from Event Control. If you missed out, we do still have some sizes available to purchase.
