Northants 5K Race Series

The Northants 5K Race Series is now in its 8th year and has become a regular fixture in the county's annual running calendar. With hundreds of runners taking part last year, including club runners, jogging groups and those who are completely new to running, the 5k Race Series offers something for everyone.

The 2019 Series will include 5 trail races. All 5 races are multi-terrain courses taking in some of Northamptonshire's beautiful parklands and woodlands. All finishers will receive one of our bespoke 5K Race medals – a different one to collect at each race.

Race 1 - 24th April 2019 - Deene Park - 19:15 start

Race 2 - 15th May 2019 - Salcey Forest - 19:30 start

Race 3 - 19th June 2019 - Delapre - 19:30 start

Race 4 - 17th July 2019 - Brixworth Country Park - 19:30 start

Race 5 - 8th September 2019 - Irchester Country Park - 11:00 start

Race 5 Provisional Results

Hi all,

Very well done for yesterdays race. Hope you all have enjoyed the series as much as we have. I have attached the provisional results. As the race is timed manually we allow a few days for any issues to be highlighted, investigated and changed (if needed) before publishing the results as 'Final' and uploading them onto the Run Britain website. So, if you notice any issues, including; 1. Name spelt incorrectly or missing 2. Gender incorrect 3. Wrong or missing age category. 4. Incorrect number with name 5. Timing way off what you would expect. 6. Club name not present.Please email me [email protected] by 5pm Thursday 12th September 2019. Jo

Race 5 - Irchester Country Park

Hi all, 
I can't believe we are approaching the final race of the series. I hope you all have enjoyed the races as much as we have. 

Please find attached the Race Briefing and Map for Sunday morning race at Irchester Country Park. The race starts at 11am. We will have the registration desk open from 9.30am. Don't forget to head to the desk to collect any outstanding Virtual Medals and your Series T Shirt if you haven't collected yet. 

Will have a children's 2K race at 10.30am - only £3 per child which includes medal and race number - and our sponsors Wilson Browne Solicitors will also be bringing Wilson Bear who will be handing out Wilson Bear goodies to the children that have booked on. 

As is it the last race, why not hang around after you have finished your race and see the 2019 Northants Whole Series Winners awarded their trophies. There will be a male and female winner. To qualify you need to have finished 4 out of 5 races. Your place for each race turns into points, lowest average points wins. 1st place = 1pt, 2nd = 2pts etc..

Children's 2K Race at Irchester

Hi all, 

We are pleased to let you know that before the main 5K race on Sunday we will have a children's 2K race - starting at 10.30am and suitable for 4-11 year olds (adults can run with children and we would advise if under 8 years old) Once children have been booked on, head over to our Race Sponsors Wilson Browne at the purple gazebo as Wilson Bear will be in attendance giving out Wilson Bear goodies. Get there early so you don't miss out! The registration tent will be open from 9am.

Hi all and a very well done for yesterday evening. It was a tough course on a warm evening and you all did so well. We have received so many messages commenting what a wonderful, encouraging group of runners you all are :)

Hi Chris, yes you can still enter the races individually. Go to Browse Events and search northamptonshire sport and all 5 races will come up.

I see that whole series is sold out. Can I still run at each event or is there another way to join the whole series..? I managed to run 2 races last year.

I had a note in my diary to enter before 23rd April but it seems I am too late! The 5k series is sold out. I am gutted. Is there any chance of getting a place?

Hi Louise, we will be doing the Virtual 5K again this year. To take part you need to be booked onto all races. If there is a race you can not attend. Just either send us a photo of you doing a 5K where you are or go to the venue at any time before the end of October 2019, run the route, tag us in a photo and we will send out your medal to you. Somewhere I noted a comment about virtual. Theres two races I will be unable to attend sadly. I cant find any info on the virtual part.
