Open Water Swim - Race 3

The Triathlon Training Centre is hosting a series of 4 Thursday evening open water swim events in the picturesque county of Berkshire at beautiful Bray Lake.

Enter Race 3 or you can enter the full race series (Race 1 - 24 May; Race 2 - 21 June; Race 3 - 19 July; Race 4 - 16 August) by returning to Race 1 and selecting the appropriate Swim RACE SERIES entry for a discount.

Each event consists of a choice of three different open water swim distances for those aged 17 (as at 31 December 2018) and over, 750m, 1500m or 3km. Those under 17 can enter our 750m event.

Under the guidance of our race director, ex-elite triathlete Richard Stannard (aka "the Fish"), we have created a great course and race series suitable for both novice and experience athletes alike. Our goal is to create an inclusive race series for all - if you are new to open water swimming, why not join us for on our our Novice Intro to Open Water sessions ahead of your first race. For more information, head to http://www.triathlontrainingcentre.co.uk/novice-intro-open-water/.

Our open water swim events, held on various Thursday evenings across the season, are an excellent opportunity to monitor your progression throughout the year with each event being held on the identical course allowing for comparisons of times across the series. The Open Water Swim Series is made up of 4 races - each race has great prizes plus enter multiple races in the series and your best results from your top 3 races go towards the grand final podium and prize giving!

The 750m open water swim event is open to juniors provided they are 15 or older as at 31 December 2018.

On the day registration will take place between 18.00 and 18.45 closing promptly. Race briefing will follow at 18.45. The races will start in the water at approx. 19:00.

  • Non-wetsuit swimmers are eligible to participate in the event provided they have experience swimming the event distance without a wetsuit at this time of the year and complete the non-wetsuit section of the entry form
  • Wetsuit rental is available for the evening event for those who require one. If you would like to hire a wetsuit, please email Jas on [email protected].
