Rough Runner North London (Saturday)

Rough Runner’s back in London!

5,000 Roughians nailed the Travelator last year at Finsbury, so we're back to give another packed-out crowd the chance. So whether you’re new to Rough Runner or have been before, this is your only chance to take on our epic obstacles in the heart of the city. We know of no other event which brings a range of obstacles so massive, so ambitious, and so much fun into the centre of the capital. We’ll be bringing the legendary Travelator with us to the doorstep of millions of Londoners, and giving you the opportunity to bring your favourite TV game show memories into reality.

Inspired by TV game shows like Total Wipeout, Gladiators, Takeshi’s Castle and Ninja Warrior, this is the only event that will give you the chance to take on a load of epic obstacles that you’ve only ever seen on screen and always wanted to try.

If you’ve always fancied taking part in one of our events, but getting there has been too much of a task, then this is the one for you.

If you want to see the rest of the obstacles you and the rest of your team will be up against, have a gander: https://roughrunner.com/obstacles/

Did we mention we have The Travelator?

Do it now. Regret it never.

Black Friday deal for 2020!

sent by Rough Runner on 29/11/2019 at 11:15
Hi Roughian,

Yes, we're doing a Black Friday deal, today only!

You'll see some offers on our website for new runners, but since you ran with us earlier this year you get a much better deal, which you won't see on our site without this private link:

roughrunner.com/black-friday-special

You don't have to enter details of your team at this stage - just secure the tickets and we'll send you registration codes next week (which you can use any time).

We'd also love to get your feedback and ideas for next year's event, so feel free to fill out the form at the bottom of the page with your suggestions while you pick up your tickets

If you've already offered some thoughts, many thanks - we've got big plans for the new year and your feedback is really helpful!

Have a great festive season till we see you in 2020,

The  Rough Runner Team

So...did you like it Rough?

Hi Roughian,

A massive thanks from us for coming down to Finsbury Park and nailing our Big Balls!

There were so many smiles, laughs, hilarious wipeouts and inspirational bits of teamwork that we lost count! And we've had such great feedback about the event that we've already gone and launched 2020 dates, and we'd love you to join us again.

So, we've just got launch priced tickets live and you're the first to know about them.

There are 250 available till Wednesday night only, and they come with a no quibbles refund - just let us know if you change your mind any time this year and we'll give you 100% of your cash back.

Here they are: https://roughrunner.com/london-north

Before you head off and grab yours, here are a few things to know about the event!
  • Only 15% of people made it up the Travelator's Fast lane
  • We used over 500,000 litres of water to make sure none of you stayed too dry
  • Nearly £150k was raised for charity at Finsbury this year. Pretty amazing!
  • 2020's event will have new obstacles, a bigger village and a brand new kids area
We'll be adding loads more to the event over the off season, so if you've got any other feedback just let us know and we'll do what we can to make it happen.

Thanks again - YOU are what makes the events so epic and we love you for it!

Final email for the weekend's event. Please read in full!

Hi Roughian!

It's very nearly event time!

So here's a final email from us with everything you need for the epic action you'll be enjoying soon... Please read in full!

Wave times

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT, WHICH MAKES SURE ANY QUEUES ARE MINIMISED! The Saturday event has around 3000 runners attending, which will make for an incredible atmosphere, but if everyone turns up when they feel like it then everyone ends up queuing! Last year the queue for registration was over an hour, as well as at the start line, and some obstacles had queues too. This can all be completely avoided if you turn up for your time.

SO PLEASE COME AT THE TIMES SPECIFIED (IGNORE THE TIME ON YOUR TICKET IF IT SHOWS ONE), AND NOT BEFORE

We have put together wave times for everyone who registered their team members and requested a rough wave time.

Please take a look at the link below, where you can see all the event info you need. Follow the process and look out for the wave time option to see what time you and your team are running.

PLEASE STICK TO THESE TIMES!

See yours via: http://roughrunner.com/my-entry

If you see your name more than once, it means you've got tickets that haven't yet been registered to your team mates, so please check the email we sent a few weeks ago for instructions on how to do this, or contact RaceSpace directly, before you attend the event.

If your name isn't on the list you'll still be able to run, but you won't have a specific time slot. Instead, turn up between 12pm and 3pm on the day and we'll fit you and your team in to the next available wave.

If you're not on there but your team mates are, or if you're in a different wave to them, just turn up with them and you can join their wave.

If you're running the 10km, please be aware that the last wave goes out at 4.30pm. If you miss that, you'll need to run the 5km.

Rascals

For the kids event, they will all run together in one group in the final wave of the day. On Saturday, this is at 5.30pm, on Sunday this is at 3.15pm. If your Rascal can't make their time, they are welcome to come on the other day.

Other event essentials

Along with your wave times, you can read up on the essentials for the day via the same link as above: roughrunner.com/my-entry

At the very least, remember to bring your ID, ticket and waiver. The link to the waiver is here: https://bit.ly/32hoiKy

The Travelator Challenge

Finally, last year saw the biggest ever Travelator Knockout contest, with over 100 people taking part. We're keen to break that record this year!

It's your chance to take on the Travelator at ever increasing speeds, till there's just one Roughian standing who will win a cash prize and be crowned The Travelator Champion!

It all happens towards the end of the day (around 6pm), so stick around, enjoy the atmosphere and get involved.

That's about it.

See you on the course!
