Rough Runner South London (Sunday)
There’s no getting around it – London is a beast of a city. Sprawling, diverse, and busy, one event a year in the capital just isn’t enough. So we’ve found an awesome new spot in Morden Park, where you’ll get a beautiful run through perfect parkland, with amazing views of the city skyline.
It’s the closest thing you’ll get to a countryside run without leaving the underground network, so you get the best of both worlds. Join us for the latest addition to the Rough Runner events calendar and you’ll have something pretty spectacular to talk about on the tube ride home…
A few minutes from Morden underground station, as well as Morden South and St Helier train stations. So no excuse if you don’t drive…
Organiser Updates (4)
So...did you like it Rough?
- 5448 people smashed the Travelator across the weekend
- Around 95% of people wiped out on Buoy Zone
- We used 500,000 litres of water to keep you from that 'too dry' feeling
- 2020's event will have new obstacles, a bigger village and a brand new kids area
Final email for the weekend's event. Please read in full!
It's very nearly event time!
So here's a final email from us with everything you need for the epic action you'll be enjoying soon... Please read in full!
Wave times
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT, WHICH MAKES SURE ANY QUEUES ARE MINIMISED! The Sunday event has around 2000 runners attending, which will make for an incredible atmosphere, but if everyone turns up when they feel like it then everyone ends up queuing! Last year the queue for registration was over an hour, as well as at the start line, and some obstacles had queues too. This can all be completely avoided if you turn up for your time.
SO PLEASE COME AT THE TIMES SPECIFIED (IGNORE THE TIME ON YOUR TICKET IF IT SHOWS ONE), AND NOT BEFORE!
We have put together wave times for everyone who registered their team members and requested a rough wave time.
Please take a look at the link below, where you can see all the event info you need. Follow the process and look out for the wave time option to see what time you and your team are running.
PLEASE STICK TO THESE TIMES!
See yours via: http://roughrunner.com/my-entry
If you see your name more than once, it means you've got tickets that haven't yet been registered to your team mates, so please check the email we sent last month for instructions on how to do this, or contact RaceSpace directly, before you attend the event.
If your name isn't on the list you'll still be able to run, but you won't have a specific time slot. Instead, turn up between 10.30am and 12.30pm on the day and we'll fit you and your team in to the next available wave.
If you're not on there but your team mates are, or if you're in a different wave to them, just turn up with them and you can join their wave.
If you're running the 10km, please be aware that the last wave goes out at 2.45pm. If you miss that, you'll need to run the 5km.
Rascals
For the kids event, they will all run in the 2 final waves of the day. On Saturday, these are at 5pm and 5.15pm, on Sunday these are at 3.30pm and 3.45pm. If your Rascal can't make their time, they are welcome to come on the other day.
Other event essentials
Along with your wave times, you can read up on the essentials for the day via the same link as above: roughrunner.com/my-entry
At the very least, remember to bring your ID, ticket and waiver. The link to the waiver is here: https://bit.ly/32hoiKy
The entrance to the runners village is through the Morden Leisure centre car park, past the white barrier. Please use the postcode SM4 5HE to find your way. While there is a public car park with about 100 spaces, there's no designated event parking so you're best off using public transport to get to the event (it's London after all!).
The Travelator Challenge
Finally, last year saw the biggest ever Travelator Knockout contest, with over 100 people taking part. We're keen to break that record this year!
It's your chance to take on the Travelator at ever increasing speeds, till there's just one Roughian standing who will win a cash prize and be crowned The Travelator Champion!
It all happens towards the end of the day (around 4pm), so stick around, enjoy the atmosphere and get involved.
That's about it.
See you on the course!
The Rough Runner Team
Crucial info for next weekend's event. Please read in full!
Hope you're as excited as we are for the event next week!
Not wanting to interrupt your Travelator training, but this email contains essential information about the event, so please read the below in full and follow the links.
Wave times
Now, we're going to sound all heavy-handed here, but the wave times are a huge part of the event running smoothly. 04/10/2019 20:28:28I agree with the comments... impossible to find the wave time. The fact the ticket is a different time and you are told that on the page but can't find the right time is frustrating. We planned our day around the first time we were told and then given a later wave but now it's unclear.

Whoever made the decision to switch over to race space after registration on here really needs to assess their capabilities. I have 7 on my team and I've managed to migrate only 3 to race space as race space wasn't really ready for this traffic. Your staff couldn't help much because you weren't adequately manned for this migration either. Now I have a team of 7, 3 of which do not have tickets. We run on Sunday and we do not know what time we are running either.

02/10/2019 08:45:13I have a team of 10 registered but nowhere can I see what wave we are in. We need to run early, how can I confirm we can go in an early start wave please?
