Scott Sports Dirty Dozen Adventure Trail Run

Now in it's 6th year the 2019 Scott Sports Dirty Dozen will be bigger, better and tougher than ever before. Plus for 2019 every adult entrant gets a free T Shirt and Medal!!

What's the event all about? Quite simply it's a proper trail running event. We're really lucky to have Cannock Chase on our doorstep and we think think it's the perfect location for trail running. We've got lots of hills (up and down), hard stone tracks, muddy single track sections, "Ditch Of Doom".... the course we put together includes bits of everything whilst also taking runners off the beaten track.

Don't expect any walls to climb over or barbed wire to go under. No boring grass farmers fields…. This is a "Trail Run" we use one of the best and most beautiful areas in the country filled with fantastic natural trails that make the area such a destination site.

Enduro Sections

Back for 2018, we'll be timing 2 individual sections within the race. These will be short 100 / 200 metres sections up hill or down where to can show us what you're really made of. Scott Sports will be providing prizes for the 1st male and female on each section.

To time these sections we'll be using Strava.

~ love this event! challenging and fun terrain, the hills the trails and even a dip in the water – perfect to let your hair down and just run

~ flat, dry, short, easy run…. NOT

~ fantastic event, can't wait until next year. Again! Again!

~ really enjoyed the run. Felt a bit apprehensive when we arrived as i thought it might not suit me as a slower runner but I will definitely be back and will be recommending it

Directions to the venue

Tackeroo Camp Site

Penkridge Bank

Nr Rugeley

WS15 2UA

The venue at Tackeroo is ideal for holding events at. Easily accessible from the north or the south Tackeroo is around 15 minutes from the M6 motorway junctions at Cannock (South) or Stafford (North).

Arrival:

Please follow the signage from Penkridge Bank to the car park area. From there you will be directed to the start / finish arena. We recommend that you arrive at this area at least 30 minutes before the start of the event. There will be a secure bag storage area for you to leave clothing / keys etc. Spend some time and warm up before the start and make sure you wear suitable clothing for winter conditions. The start area can get quite windy so a windproof jacket and full length bottoms are recommended.

What To Wear For The Event:

Given the time of year we recommend you plan for wet / cold conditions. Last year we experienced rain, hail, wind and sun! To start with trail shoes are a must. It will be wet and slippy throughout the event and trail shoes will give you the best chance of getting grip. Cover the legs with tights or very light track suit bottom. Avoid heavy fleece or cotton bottom as these will just soak up water and make running very hard work. On top we recommend a good base layer with either a highly breathable top for those running quick or a lightweight waterproof for those taking their time. Again try to avoid thick cotton or polyester tops. You don't need to carry any water as you can get this from the water stations around the course. We'd recommend that you don't carry phones or cameras as the course does include areas of deep water. If you do please make sure they are in water proof holders.

Enduro Sections

There will be 2 individual "enduro sections" within the standard course. The start and finish of these sections will be marked clearly so you are fully aware. As well as your time for full course you'll also be timed for the 3 sections and results will be made available after the event. It designed to add a bit of extra fun to the run. You can make as much or as little effort during these sections as you wish. If you're running as a group then why not have a little blast between you. Maybe you're not going to be at the front of the race but you're fast downhill... this may give you a chance to show how good you are!

Other Information:

Prize presentation will take place around 30 minutes after the 3rd place female has crossed the line. Prizes for the Team events will be posted out a few days after the event.

Full results will be available online from Monday after the event. A link to these and the photos taken on the day will be posted on the Facebook page

Race Numbers

We will not be sending out race numbers prior to the event. Please arrive with enough time (we recommend at least 1hr before your event start) to sign on.
