Jackals Run 10km & Half Marathon Trail Race

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed the beautiful trails with us on Sunday 12 Mar 2017! ​It was lovely and muddy and it was fab seeing so many smiling faces at the end! The beauty with trail running is exploring the trails and having fun... And that in mind!


We are back in 2018... Bigger and better! We are changing the route, to keep it fun, different and challenging! ​

The Jackals Run is fast becoming known as one of the best trail races in the North West and there is a reason why!

Well organised, beautifully, challenging trail with amazing bling for your efforts plus hot food at the finish line and a bar... What more could one ask for!

There is plenty of parking and the atmosphere of the day is awesome!

After a tough climb up to the Darwen Moors, the trail is undulates across various terrain before taking in the Iconic Darwen Tower where our professional race photograpgher will be stood to capture a memory of your day with us!

There is a reason we sell out every year... Because our events are tough and rewarding with amazing bling... surrounded by like minded individuals!

Those that know me, Stu (the RD) know I do everything I can to make an amazing event and amazing experience! so much so that I am changing the route for 2018 to keep the Jackals Run Challenging, Fun and Interesting! ​I must tell you though, it sells out quickly with only a field of 200,, Do not miss your place!



RACE DAY INFO

ROUTE

Start and finish 200m from the Olde English Kiosk within Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen. Each trail will be very well signed and marshaled for your safety. From the startline, the trail gets steep, pretty quickly! So ensure you are conditioned to take on long, steep ascents!

ARRIVAL

Parking is minimal within Sunnyhurst woods, however, there is plenty of parking along Earnsdale road, next to the woods. Please be at the startline at 8.45am for a race brief.

REGISTRATION

Registration will take place at The Olde English Kiosk. There will also be a bag drop available at this location free of charge. Registration will be open from 7am. You MUST re-register on day 2 at the admin table.

BLING

Of course! And a tee too! NOTE. You only get your bling if you complete both marathons.

MEDICAL

There will be a medical presence located at the start line and on the route. If there is an emergency situation with a runner on the fells, Bolton Mountain Rescue are on standby to extract.

FOOTWEAR

Trail or Fell Trainers are an absolute must for this event.

MUSIC

Runners are permitted to listen to music but we ask you only have 1 earbud in so you are able to hear any instructions ffrom marshaling staff.

FOOD & DRINK

There will be a water stations around the route. Should you require more water on route, we advise you carry it with you. There will be a hot meal at the finish line after your race. There is also a licenced bar that will be open! We hope you stay and have a drink with us afterwards!

TOILETS & CHANGING

There are toilets near to the startline. There will be no change facillities.
