TTC Winter Aquathlon Series: Race 3

Hello and welcome from Tewkesbury Triathlon club to our 2019 series of winter aquathlons. A 400m pool swim is followed by a 5k run.

Venue and location

The aquathlon series will be held at a new venue this year at Tewkesbury Leisure Centre which is approximately two miles from M5 Junction 9.

Car Parking Free at TLC.

Registration (11:00-11:30)

You are to register at TLC. Race numbers will be provided and must be displayed on your front ideally using a race belt or safety pins. Please bring your BTF card if you want to claim the members' rate.

Transition

Trainers and any clothing you wish to use for the run should be placed within the transition area.

Race start

Your starting time will be given to you at registration, please be poolside ready at least 5 minutes before your start time. If you miss your start time you may miss your racing slot or have your start time delayed. Start times will be given out at registration. Any start time sent before the event are provisional.

Swim

The swim is 400 metres and as it is a 25-metre pool, you will do 16 lengths. You will have a lane counter, but please try and count your own lengths. You will be given a swim hat, please give it back once you have finished your swim. You will be tapped on the head with a float or have a float waved at you underwater when you are 2 lengths away from finishing your swim. If you want to overtake someone please do so with a caution and tap the person’s feet in front of you to let them know you wish to overtake and if you are being tapped on your feet please allow the person to overtake you by waiting at the end of the lane or moving over to make room for them to pass. Upon exit from the swim please shout your number to the person at the fire exit so they can easily write your number and time down.

Run

Once you have exited the swim turn left out of the pool and follow all signs and directions from marshalls. You will be doing a 1 lap out and back multi terrain course course.

Prize Giving

Prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the race. Please be patient and we should be finished as soon as we can.
