Kit WTM

Just a few reminders for tomorrow guys :

The event is cupless- please bring your own drinking vessel/s to the water stations

KIT

Full kit check will be being enforced with the heavy weather forecast;

If the weather is like it is now a water proof jacket will be suffice - with a hat or buff, whistle and a foil blanket or emergency bag. If it’s the heavy rain it’s give then waterproof pants as well . Carrying it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wear it. Most parts of the race -your in remote areas, it’s open and quite exposed where there is no vehicular access. If you have an accident or hurt yourself nobody can get to you in a hurry- you will get cold quick and the full body cover will either save your life or make your 10mile hobble to a road to get picked up more bearable. I don’t ask you to carry this stuff for the hell of it, you might complain or grumble but it saves lives and you won’t know it until the time when it’s too late

Parking is on Whitworth rake the hill to the left of the golf club - there’s no parking at the golf club . As you go over the cattle grid on the approach to the club I advise you drive to the top of the rake to the flat bit- spin around and come back down the rake and park your car at a 45degree angle to the tarmac road so you can do a rolling start down hill if the rain is bad so you don’t get stuck on the grass

Look forward to seeing you all in the morning

That was a spectacular event, well organised and a well planned and maked out course. I did the half so can’t comment on the full marathon. Well done 👍
