Windsor Marathon River Trail Run

The first year was a success so we are bringing back the Windsor Marathon River Trail Run, the first ever full marathon distance event to ever take part in the Thames Valley. Due to demand we will also be running an additional Half Marathon River Trail Run on the same day.

We are able to put on this event in an iconic setting which takes runners past the historical sites of Windsor, Boveney Lock, Bray, Dorney, Maidenhead and Eton, finishing with Windsor Castle in front of you!

Ages: 17 and over as of 07/10/2018

*This is not a UK Athletics Measured Road course. It is a trail run and not 100% accurate due to the natural grid and landowner commissions on where we can start and finish this event, so the distance maybe slightly shorter.

This event promises to be a memorable experience with breath taking views and a friendly atmosphere. Why not make a weekend of it with family and friends and stay in Windsor and visit the local attractions.

Mainly run along river trail paths, the course incorporates many of the key landmarks that have made Royal Berkshire and its surrounding area so famous. It is an absolute must for anyone looking for a break from the pavement grind and a change of scenery.

Limited to 1000 participants. The event is not designed to be a gruelling cross country through deep mud and puddles, but aims to be a fun, friendly and fast trail run along one of England's most historic courses. We hope that our onsite facilities, commentary and music provide plenty to keep other halves and little ones entertained, ensuring a day out for all the family while you run.

Our waved-start format creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, limiting any participant congestion along the route. As this is a trail run it does not have a certified distance, but is still accurately measured the same as all of our other events.

There is a minimum participant age of 17 for this event. For participant health and safety, we also ask that there are no prams or dogs taken out on the course.

Hi, What is marathon´s time limit? Is route suitable for runner who have run only normal marathons? Not too "heavy"... Kindly Tiina
